Going through all of these family photos was just what I needed today.  At 35 weeks pregnant, I have to say I’m doing pretty well.  However, being this pregnant and keeping up with a (very active) toddler is getting more challenging by the day. I’m slowing down, not feeling the greatest, and full of pregnancy hormones that sometimes make me feel like I’m going crazy.

That being said, I wouldn’t change anything – not for a moment.  These past 2 and a half years with just Knox have been amazing. Yes, there have been challenges and trying times, but mostly I just look back and feel grateful.  I could not imagine my life any other way.

CJ asked me why I wanted to take family photos right now when he knows I’m going to make him take more in another month after the baby comes, and I told him I just wanted one more set of photos to remember our life as a family of three.  Knox has brought so much joy into our lives.  He’s intense and strong willed; he’s smart and curious.  He has the best smile and contagious laugh.  He’s sensitive. He’s loving.  He is full of joy and excitement for every little thing.  He loves babies, and he can’t wait to have a little brother so (in his words) he can “hold him and tickle his belly.” I know he’s going to be the best big brother.

We arranged to have our photos taken with my good friend, Tiffany from Kokal Photography, and we had to reschedule a few times due to weather.  (That’s what happens when you live in Minnesota, right)?! But I am glad we held out because the weather and evening were absolutely perfect.  Tiffany made the shoot so much fun and low stress.  We did a few outfit and scenery changes, so these are part one of our photos. (Stay tuned for more in the next few weeks).  I love how they turned out, and I will treasure them forever.

I picked up this crisp, white, off the shoulder dress called the The Madeline Dress from Nordstrom to wear for our first part of the session.  This dress is non maternity, but it’s super loose and flowy, so it’s perfect if you’re pregnant or not! There are also removable shoulder straps that easily unbutton so you can have a few different looks with it.  Oh, and did I mention it has pockets?! It has pockets. I love a dress with pockets.  It’s really lightweight, comfortable, and stylish.  It’s also 40% off right now and comes in white and black.  These Marc Fisher Adalyn Espadrille Wedge Sandals are my favorite.  They are sooo comfortable – and this is coming from a pregnant woman with swollen feet! There are several different colors and patterns that are currently available.  These ones were perfect for summer, and I’m thinking of getting them in black for fall! Love them.  My necklace is by David Yurman and I never take it off.  My husband surprised me with it this past Valentine’s Day, and it’s the most simple and beautiful necklace.  It has the letter K for Knox on it, and Knox loves to remind me that the “K” is for him.
